Part-time live-out carer in Haringey

We are seeking a compassionate and patient part-time carer to provide visiting and night care for a client in the Haringey area of London. This role requires a sensitive and understanding approach to care, with a focus on providing emotional and physical security for the client. Key Responsibilities: - Provide companionship and emotional support during daytime visits - Assist with basic meal preparation and light housekeeping duties - Perform laundry tasks as needed - Offer non-professional massage for neuropathy relief, as guided by the client - Provide attentive night care to ensure the client's comfort and safety Schedule: - Daytime visits: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM - Night care: Two nights per week (specific nights to be arranged) - Total hours: 22 hours of daytime care plus 2 nights per week Required Qualities: - Excellent listening skills and ability to engage in client-led conversations - Patience and understanding, especially when the client is having difficult days - Respect for the client's autonomy and preferences - Ability to provide care without being overly prescriptive or pushy - Flexibility to adapt care approach based on the client's daily needs and mood Additional Information: - The client primarily stays at home but may eventually wish to resume physiotherapy exercises and outdoor activities at their own pace - Care duties are guided by the client, and their wishes should be respected at all times - The ideal candidate will show genuine interest in the client's topics of conversation without dominating discussions This role is ideal for a carer who understands the importance of allowing the client to maintain their independence while providing necessary support.
